Overview



We are seeking a skilled and motivated Employment Lawyer at the mid to senior level to join a dynamic and collaborative legal team. The successful candidate will be based in Reading, with occasional work from London and Bristol offices to support cross-office collaboration and exposure to a wider range of clients and legal professionals.

Team Structure



13 Employment Lawyers in Reading 18 in London 2 in Bristol Additional teams in Immigration, Pensions, Regulatory, and Corporate spread across locations 60+ fee-earners firmwide

Key Responsibilities



Handle a balanced caseload of both employee and employer matters. Advise senior executives, partners, and managers on grievance, disciplinary and performance issues, unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and settlement agreements. Support litigation in Employment Tribunal and High Court, including team move disputes. Provide employers with strategic advice, policy drafting, reorganisation guidance, TUPE/business transfer support, and day-to-day HR legal advice. Act as a mentor and role model to junior lawyers. Collaborate with a range of partners and senior fee earners on varied client matters. Take ownership of file management and administrative responsibilities in a hands-on, agile environment.

Candidate Requirements



Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience in employment law. Strong experience in claimant, respondent, or both sides of work. Proven experience in Tribunal and High Court litigation. High attention to detail, organisation, and prioritisation skills. Ability to manage multiple matters and maintain professionalism under pressure. Clear and professional oral and written communication skills. Client-focused approach with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Confident in using Microsoft Office and standard legal software.
