This is an exciting opportunity available within our dynamic, challenging, and expanding Santander Internal Audit team. As a valued member of the Internal Audit department, we invite you to share our commitment to delivering value to our people, customers, communities, and stakeholders. You will play a key role in providing robust, independent assurance and challenge on the effectiveness of processes and controls across the bank, while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders within our global organisation.


This is a temporary role (FTC - 3 months initially) and will support the Internal Audit Finance and Markets team in delivering the 2025 audit plan.


The difference you'll make:



Delivering high-quality outputs that comply with Internal Audit methodology standards and agreed timelines. You will ensure audit documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date, minimizing areas for improvement. They will also verify factual accuracy for identified issues and ensure test results reflect final conclusions Actively contributing to assurance activities by identifying and assessing risks, controls, and impacts within allocated business areas Assisting in drafting Terms of Reference, perform gap analyses, and take ownership of the Audit Planning document. Fieldwork contributions will include testing strategies, control assessments, and documenting results to support audit findings Embracing change and support transformation initiatives, including digitalization and new tools adoption Seeking opportunities to contribute to the management of the Internal Audit department, such as ongoing business monitoring and producing management information (MI) for Senior Management

What you'll bring:



These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:


Expert industry knowledge with prior experience in auditing, risk management Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills Good knowledge of internal audit methodologies Ability to work independently and as part of a team

It would also be nice for you to have:



Knowledge of CIB policies or relevant academic background in Markets and Finance Experience in big data management, particularly within transaction reporting environments. Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or similar software to effectively handle and interpret large dataset Demonstrate familiarity with regulatory frameworks, particularly the Remuneration Code, with great understanding of its principles and application within the banking sector High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.
