With a salary of up to 47,000
(depending on skills and experience),
the successful applicant will be expected to support the Operational Managers with recruitment and assist the H&S team with investigating and reviewing any safety related issues or incidents, to ensure robust resolutions are deployed to avoid occurrences.
Working alongside a team of approx. 40 Authorised Persons, including the Asset Maintenance Engineering team, you will be the escalation point for technical questions, advice and guidance in both electrical and supporting mechanical fields.
No two days will be the same as you will cover a large area, whilst also providing support on the setup and installation of new equipment.
You will need to have the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and be able to communicate with people at all levels. A self-motivator with a passion to make improvements across the business, the successful person will be required to motivate and drive through and implement technical and legislative changes.
The Senior Authorised Person will take responsibility for the implementation and operation of the mechanical and electrical safe systems of work to effectively control risk, and this will be an East based role for the safe maintenance and operation of the companies' high voltage systems to ensure no danger arises.
Full, clean UK Manual Driving Licence
Engineering qualifications to at least HNC level in mechanical fields with mechanical qualifications (eletrical qualifications desirable)
Detailed knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA)
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) will also be required, as well as extensive technical knowledge and experience to enable them to deliver a high level of service.
The successful individual will have a demonstrable background within a maintenance operations-based position and have predominantly extensive mechanical knowledge.
A high degree of mechanical engineering knowledge will also be required in acting as the focal point for mechanical related issues experienced within the operational teams. Having electrical knowledge is desirable.
