While the company has strong mechanical expertise in injection moulding, they seek a seasoned

Senior Automation Engineer

to lead the programming, integration, and optimisation of automation systems for their injection moulding machinery.
As the subject matter expert for automation, you will own all injection moulding automation projects, develop and implement maintenance strategies, and work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Lead automation programming, integration, and continuous improvement projects for injection moulding machinery.

Serve as the go-to expert for all automation systems within injection moulding operations.

Develop and manage maintenance plans for automation equipment to ensure high uptime and performance.

Collaborate with production, design, and external partners to optimise manufacturability, efficiency, and sustainability.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to automation and process issues.

Support new product development through automation solutions and tooling integration.

Maintain technical documentation, project timelines, and compliance records.

Facilitate training and knowledge sharing to elevate the team's automation expertise.

Profile Requirements



Minimum 5 years' experience in automation engineering with expertise in industrial machine control systems and PLC programming.

Experience with injection moulding machinery automation is highly desirable but not essential. Candidates with strong automation skills and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn injection moulding processes will be considered.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Self-motivated with a focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainability.

Willingness to relocate to the UK if not locally based; visa sponsorship offered.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 35,000.00 per year
