We're now looking for an experienced
Senior Event & AV Technician
to join our growing team. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work across some of the Highlands' most exciting live events and installations.
The Role
As a Senior Event & AV Technician, you'll take a lead role in the
setup, operation, and de-rig
of live events and installations. You'll supervise crews, liaise with clients and venues, and ensure every production meets the high technical standards KBE is known for.
This is a
hands-on, senior technical role
offering scope for leadership, progression, and involvement in projects from planning through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the setup, operation, and de-rig of
audio, lighting, video, and staging systems
.
Act as on-site
technical lead
, managing small crews and ensuring smooth event delivery.
Prepare, test, and maintain equipment in our Inverness warehouse.
Occasionally oversee and assist with
AV installations and permanent system maintenance
.
Liaise with clients, venues, and event partners to deliver professional results.
Support, mentor, and train junior and freelance technicians.
Ensure safe working practices and adherence to company standards.
Travel regularly across the Highlands (and occasionally further afield).
About You
Proven experience (ideally 3 years) in
live event production
or a
senior AV/technical role
.
Strong technical competency: comfortable with
Sound or Lighting consoles
,
LED video walls
,
staging
, and
power systems
. Training is provided on specific pieces of equipment & systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills -- able to stay calm under pressure and make confident decisions during live events.
Confident communicator -- comfortable liaising with clients, venues, and senior stakeholders.
Full UK driving licence (essential)
; experience driving vans/trucks is highly desirable.
Proactive, organised, and reliable, with pride in delivering high-quality work.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and travel across the Highlands.

What We Offer
32,000 - 36,000 salary (DOE)
+ paid overtime.
40-hour working week, permanent contract.
