The Role

Our Technology team is growing! We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Back End Engineer to help scale our technology platform and support our ambitious business growth.


In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising the back-end systems that power our web applications. You will collaborate closely with front-end and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and create high-performance, scalable solutions.


This role is ideal for an experienced back-end developer who can lead projects, solve complex challenges, and contribute to the overall architecture and efficiency of our platform. You'll be expected to maintain high code quality standards, mentor junior developers, and stay up-to-date with emerging trends in back-end development.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance back-end services using Node.js and Express.js. Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring security, efficiency, and maintainability. Collaborate with front-end developers to provide seamless integration between back-end and front-end components. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure consistency and adherence to coding standards. Monitor and enhance system performance using tools such as Datadog. Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline, integrating automated testing and ensuring smooth deployments using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab CI. Work with DevOps to manage containerised environments using Docker.

About You:

Extensive experience with Node.js, Express.js, and back-end development best practices. Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture. Proficiency in working with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated testing and deployment strategies. Familiarity with monitoring and performance optimisation tools such as Datadog. You thrive when working as part of a team Comfortable in a fast-paced environment Have excellent written and verbal English skills Last but not least, you'll have no ego!
