QOVES is building the first Facial Biometrics Platform that analyses over 100 facial markers to measure beauty, symmetry, and health. Our tools are used by clinics, AI labs, and millions of users to understand and improve their appearance through data.
We are looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer
with strong experience in Python, FastAPI, and Django to help us scale our systems, build fast and reliable APIs, and ensure our infrastructure supports rapid growth. You will work with a small and highly skilled team of engineers, designers, and researchers who are passionate about building beautiful and meaningful technology.
Responsibilities
Design and optimise backend systems in Python using FastAPI and Django
Build scalable APIs that serve millions of requests per month
Collaborate with AI and computer vision teams on image-processing pipelines
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Ensure reliability, security, and performance across systems
Contribute to core architecture and technical decisions
Requirements
4+ years of backend experience with Python, ideally using FastAPI or Django
Strong understanding of architecture, scalability, and system design
A focus on clean engineering and thoughtful problem solving
Previous experience in a product-led startup environment is a plus
Bonus: experience with AI, computer vision, or large image data pipelines
