Job Description

As a BI Analyst/Developer at Rathbane Group Services, you will play a key role in developing and supporting insightful data-driven solutions across the Group. This role focuses on unlocking business value through effective data modelling, intuitive Power BI reports, and practical low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.


You will work closely with stakeholders across multiple companies and departments to understand their information needs and deliver effective, scalable solutions that empower users to make better decisions. As we move from legacy SQL Server and SSAS architecture toward Microsoft Fabric, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of analytics across the Group while expanding your current skillset.


Main Duties/Activities:



Business Intelligence & Reporting



Liaise with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and develop accurate, user-friendly

Power BI reports

. Build and maintain reusable data models, applying best practice principles for performance and clarity. Support the businesss ongoing move to

Microsoft Fabric

, including dataflows, Direct Lake datasets, and OneLake integration. Maintain and improve existing reports to ensure consistency, reliability, and relevance. Promote the use of structured, governed data for reporting and insights across the group.

Power Platform Development



Design and build business-focused

Canvas Apps

in Power Apps to digitise manual or paper-based processes. Use Power Automate to streamline and automate approvals, notifications, and business workflows. Work closely with users to gather requirements and ensure solutions are usable and maintainable. Assist colleagues with informal training, documentation, and ongoing support to increase adoption.

Data Practices & Development Workflow



Contribute to the teams use of

Azure DevOps

and

Git

for version control, solution deployment, and change management. Write and maintain documentation for data models, reports, apps, and automated flows. Support the creation of a semantic layer for consistent reporting and data reuse across departments. Apply good development practices, including testing, validation, and reusability.

Support & Collaboration



Provide day-to-day support for users of Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Collaborate with colleagues in Business Systems, IT, and end-user departments to deliver improvements. Assist with user testing, training, go-live support, and adoption of new tools and solutions. Work with third-party providers where needed to troubleshoot, upgrade, or implement enhancements.

Essential Criteria:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field. 3+ years experience in a Business Intelligence, data analyst or similar role. Strong skills in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and report design. Experience with Power Apps (Canvas Apps) and Power Automate. Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users. Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to documentation. Enthusiasm for learning and supporting the teams adoption of new tools and practices (e.g. Fabric, CI/CD).

Desirable Criteria:



Experience working with Microsoft Fabric (e.g. Direct Lake datasets, OneLake). Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and version control practices for Power Platform or BI. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) data. Knowledge of data governance principles and semantic layer development. Understanding of how to design scalable Power Platform solutions across business functions. Experience working in a multi-business-unit or group structure (e.g. construction, manufacturing, property).
