About the role
We're looking for a Senior BMS Energy Consultant to join our Net Zero consulting team and help us to help us build a more sustainable future.
In this role, you'll provide expert technical advisory services across various sectors, focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and building services to support decarbonisation efforts.
Collaborating closely with our Engineering and Managed Services teams, you'll shape and optimise long-term decarbonisation programs, ensuring measurable impact. Beyond project delivery, you'll play a key role in supporting the company's long-term vision for growth, profitability, and sustainability leadership.
This role requires UK-wide travel to client sites, offering an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with organisations committed to achieving Net Zero.
You will ideally come from a Building Management System (BMS/BEMS) or HVAC systems background and have experience working with BMS systems, such as Trend, Tridium, Niagara, Cylon, and Distech. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of building HVAC Systems, Lighting Controls, and sub-metering systems.
You will be experienced in carrying out both onsite and desktop assessments of existing Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, reviewing operational descriptions to provide Optimised clients with an innovative consultancy service that delivers energy and carbon reduction savings through increased efficiency, reduced operating costs, and decarbonisation. Ideally, you will be an existing BMS Consultant or come from a BMS project management or engineering background and be looking to progress to a Consultancy role

Significant BEMS experience either performing energy & BEMS audits and/or delivering control optimisation programs in a variety of client sectors
A demonstrably strong knowledge of HVAC Plant & Control Strategies.
The ability to read, review, profile & report on current BeMS control strategies (e.g. Trend Set files) is a core essential skillset.
Experience with developing existing control strategies from a standard BMS categorisation towards higher & advanced standard.
An understanding of metering & sub-metering, along with aM&T platforms would be an advantage.
Demonstrate knowledge of the best practices of BSRIA AG98 & BS-EN15232
Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services qualifications
Project Management qualification to Prince 2 or equivalent would be desirable
Technical understanding of Electrical, Mechanical and Utility Infrastructure
Commercial awareness of UK Government energy policy and incentives
Ability to develop accurate assessments and reports to a high standard

Eligibility to work in the UK
Conduct onsite feasibility studies or plant and process to identify energy, carbon and cost savings opportunities.
Propose enhanced energy efficiency and innovative control strategies and rules modifications to enhance our client's BeMS software.
Interrogate individual systems and develop innovative solutions to deliver optimisation and decarbonisation outcomes.
Review existing building control strategies (primarily HVAC) through the existing Description of Operation, BeMS Head End, and Interrogation of Current Control Strategies (e.g., through SET software).
Propose best practice optimisation techniques to the BSRIA AG98 standard.
Develop technical reports and investment-grade business cases, including fully costed scope 1 and 2 reduction pathways over short to long-term time horizons, backed up with detailed impact forecasts covering energy, emissions and cost reductions.
Undertake data analysis, including detailed trend and exception analysis of high-frequency data, to explain inefficiencies and model the impact of proposed interventions.
Advise clients on new decarbonisation technologies and ensure proposed solutions incorporate the latest thinking on integrated systems and "single pane of glass" through Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
Contribute to presales activities, including new business meetings, site surveys, scope development, sales efforts, and thought leadership
Support the development of the Consulting team, including resources & capabilities, systems, processes and innovation in line with the overall objectives.
Develop consistent methodologies for feasibility studies, technology reviews (including due diligence), process assessments, and financial modelling.
Deliver internal training on BMS systems such as Trend, Niagra, Siemens, Tridium ALC and Distech, to support service development, deliver internal training on Smart Buildings, Comfort & Demand Based Strategies & Machine Learning, and lead internal training on the optimisation of HVAC systems.
