You would be joining this exciting journey, at the start of our scale-up phase, so that we can hit the ambitious targets our shareholders have set. Given the nature of the business, you will need to be able to deal with ambiguity, a dynamic environment (as the EV charging value chain is constantly changing) and a fast pace where there is a real focus on results, achieved as a team.

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Build Manager to join us on a permanent basis. The role reports to the Head of Build , who in turn reports to the Chief Operating Officer

This role is a combination of both the technical and practical aspects of delivering a large-scale infrastructure project. You will be working on all aspects of building a network suitable to meet the business\xe2\x80\x99s aspirations, ensuring that our clients have a pleasant experience. You will be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders both inside and outside the business.

You will support the whole team with the overall success of the project\xe2\x80\x99s journey, including driving build cost down without risking quality and safety.

Your peers within the Operations Team will include a Technical Support Manager, Networks Operations , Planning Managers (Town and Transport) and and PMO.

As Senior Build Manager of an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging business, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the build plan, reporting all and any key issues and considerations, which might impact delivery to the Head of Build .
  • Develops close working relationship with build partners and suppliers to ensure a smooth delivery which is both on time and to budget.
  • Develops close working relationship with LA and other stakeholders to ensuring all necessary approvals are in place to allow works to commence.
  • Support the Planning Team by using experience, knowledge, and skill to ensure sites are feasible, especially in relation to the grid connections and IET CoP.
  • Feed any requested/agreed information to the PMO Team within the agreed time limit.
  • Delivery of all required project metrics/reports to the required standards and in a timely fashion.
  • Lead in defining the delivery programme plan.
  • Support the project from a Health & Safety prospect, ensuring the project is being delivered safely and in line will all and any regulations set out by the HSE.
  • Work with various stakeholders in a data-driven organization to identify key areas of growth in the EV charging industry and to ensure our products and service offerings perform at the top of the market.
  • Follow industry / competitor trends and either match or exceed the highest standards of build to enhance our network, thus providing a good customer experience.
  • Actively search for ways to create additional value through new build processes and technologies, in turn improving gross margin and driving down build costs.
The Successful Candidate Will Have the Following

  • Experience with rolling out various infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage external vendors in a build/delivery environment.
  • Understanding of UK electric mobility market and role of on-street charging.
  • Excellent stakeholder & relationship management skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical specialists, with ability to generate buy-in across the organisation.
  • Commercial acumen - Ability to balance commercial and customer objectives.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Previous roles within a CPO will be essential , with extensive knowledge of DNO/IDNO\xe2\x80\x99s & ICPs, meter providers and supply chains.
  • 10+ years of delivering large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise working in the public highways (including a good understanding of NRSWA and HAUC standards and specifications).
  • Experienced at solving problems that sit between Believ and Local Authorities / Private Partners.
  • Previous experience of working with telecommunications operators such as Openreach and Virgin Media O2.
  • Experience in managing field delivery partners through delivery processes.
  • Possess deep network build expertise, managing large scale infrastructure roll out programmes working with external civils suppliers and electricity network partners.

The position is based in Waterloo we operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office.
