This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior role within a forward-thinking Building Control team in a busy and metropolitan environment.
Our building control team manage a range of interesting projects and in this role, you will enjoy the support of a multi-disciplined professional team but be given the autonomy and responsibility to work independently dealing with a range of domestic residential and commercial type building control applications, site inspections and technical queries.
We provide a professional service on all aspects of the building regulations including plan appraisal and site inspections. The successful candidate will be involved in carrying out a variety of inspections including dangerous structures and resolve the issues that may arise. You will be a valued member of the team, who will contribute to the development of the service in relation to commerciality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Building Inspector, you will:
Lead on complex domestic and commercial site inspections.
Provide technical guidance and compliance oversight for construction projects.
Assess and appraise all elements of domestic and commercial construction without supervision.
Maintain accurate records and reporting for caseload management.
Identify and resolve compliance risks, conflicts of interest, and regulatory issues.
Act as a mentor and support the development of team members.
Essential qualifications/skills
Registered Building Control Inspector Class 2a-f registration with the BSR.
A degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
Relevant experience in Building Control or a related discipline.
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or higher).
Strong decision-making and negotiation skills.
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
