VioVet is one of the UK's largest and most trusted veterinary supplies retailers, outgrowing three warehouses before recently moving to Bedford, Bedfordshire. Now VioVet is owned by Pinnacle Pet Group, based in the UK. The company now employs over 100 staff members and distributes to thousands of pet owners each month.

Senior Buyer

What are VioVet looking for?

Significant (5 years+) retail buying experience and some management experience required Very commercially astute with knowledge of trends, pricing, margins, etc. in commercial retail. Able to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously Ability to communicate with all teams and deliver to timelines in a fast-paced role. Very strong negotiation skills Be able to analyse complex sets of data Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail Proficiency in using retail software and advanced Microsoft Office Suite. Pet or Online Retail experience a distinct advantage

Some of the key responsibilities and duties need you to be:

Work in conjunction with Head of Buying to influence strategic plans and developments. Creating a topline strategy for your department working your team to deliver this each year Ensuring key performance metrics relating to the overall category performance are measured closely and achieved. These metrics include sales, margin performance and achievement of team's targets Manage supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers, and support to build long term supplier relationships Analysis data to understand performance and opportunities Conduct regular market and pricing reviews Negotiate with suppliers to agree and deliver joint business plans for your areas Work with the supply Chain team to ensure we have best-in-class availability, and helping get our products to our customers on time Actively support and promote the high-performance culture of the Buying team, including the support of personal and professional growth to encourage colleagues to be the best they can be Working in collaboration with cross functional team to define and execute a successful category strategy for the buying area

The important bit:

Salary 50,000 per annum Full-time - 37.5 hours per week Permanent contract Hours: Monday - Friday Location: South Bedford (by Elstow Interchange of A421*)
Hybrid working pattern 1 day per week in the office.
