Job Description

Escape Recruitment is working exclusively with our Global Engineering Manufacturing and supporting them to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their Strategic Purchasing Team.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for placing large project purchase orders for engineered-to-order materials. Ensuring that all purchase orders are placed with "approved suppliers" to achieve the best possible commercial terms on costs, progress payments and payment terms.

Knowledge and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Work with the Category Managers, develop and execute sourcing strategies to maximise the value of procured services and product
• Support the end-to-end tendering for high value/low mix materials
• Ensure the milestones of the procurement orders are met to support the production build and highlight any issues
• Negotiate and agree on supplier framework and cost agreements
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and suppliers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and suppliers
• Work as part of a combined commercial, technical & quality team to source and assess new suppliers\' capabilities

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

• Proven end to end purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing organisation (engineering or technical is highly advantageous)
• Experience in strategic sourcing and negotiating supplier agreements
• Experienced in Using negotiation, influencing techniques and effective communication to establish partnerships with new or existing suppliers, customers and colleagues to ensure positive results
• Strong Supplier management skills
• Project management skills
• Ability to interpret/read technical drawings is highly advantageous
