Job Overview


We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. The Senior Buyer is responsible for commercial contract management, supplier performance improvement, cost reduction initiatives, and supporting sourcing strategy across the business. This role acts as the escalation point for Buyers and Material Planners, ensuring commercial governance, continuity of supply, and alignment with operational and product development needs

Key Responsibilities



Own the commercial relationship with strategic and high-impact suppliers. Lead contract negotiation, price reviews, and cost reduction initiatives across assigned categories. Conduct sourcing exercises, benchmarking, and supplier selection to maximise value and minimise risk. Act as escalation point for supplier issues raised by Buyers or Material Planners. Drive supplier performance management, including SCAR resolution, OTIF tracking, and KPI reviews. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams on NPD sourcing and specification changes. Ensure all procurement activity complies with commercial policies, ERP data standards, and audit requirements. Maintain accurate supplier master data, commercial terms, and sourcing documentation. Support the development and coaching of Buyers to improve procurement capability. Contribute to group-wide or divisional sourcing initiatives within the Ali Group, where appropriate.

Key Capabilities



Strong negotiation and commercial acumen across strategic supplier relationships Proven ability to lead cost reduction, sourcing, and supplier development initiatives Analytical and data-driven decision-making for cost benchmarking and PPV tracking Proficient in managing supplier performance, including SCARs and KPI reviews Comfortable leading cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Planning Skilled in running complex RFQs, contract reviews, and supplier onboarding High attention to detail in contract terms, pricing compliance, and ERP master data Resilient, proactive, and decisive in managing escalations and supply risks

Accountabilities:



Cost performance across assigned categories (e.g. PPV, savings delivery) Strategic supplier performance (OTIF, quality, responsiveness) Delivery and documentation of sourcing and cost-saving projects Compliance with supplier governance policies and contract terms Support and escalation management for Buyers and Material Planners Alignment of sourcing with operational, engineering, and business requirements
