Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in senior care, ensuring that each resident receives personalised attention and support. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents while supervising and mentoring junior staff.

Duties

Deliver high-quality personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Supervise and lead a team of care assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices in care delivery. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders. Foster a warm and welcoming environment for residents, encouraging social interaction and participation in activities. Assist with medication management as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Uphold health and safety standards within the care home, conducting regular checks on equipment and facilities. Utilise IT systems for documentation purposes, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accessible.

Experience

Previous experience in a senior care role or similar position within a care home environment is essential. Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead by example and inspire others. Strong understanding of care plans and the needs of elderly individuals. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
