We are looking for one Senior Care Support Worker willing to work a 36-hour week including unpaid breaks. Our shifts are 12-hour shifts, and you are required to work alternate weekends. These weekends will be shared across the staff team. We are looking for someone with at least a year's experience as a CSW and a level 3 NVQ.
We are a 36-bed nursing home. We offer care to those ranging in age from 25 upwards who have nursing needs and mental health needs. We have a well-equipped staff team and pride ourselves in offering a welcoming and caring service.
As a Senior Carer, you will have the opportunity to become a key worker. This is a role within the home that will give you the opportunity to further develop your relationships with our residents. When you've been with us for an adequate amount of time this is a position that will further develop your role and you will be required to complete basic meetings with residents in line with your team leader's requirements. You will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check which will be paid for by ourselves. However, if you leave within the first three months the cost of this will be taken from your pay. The role will be conditional based upon the results of the DBS.
Key Responsibilities:
Care and Support
- Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centered care in line with individual care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and emotional wellbeing.
- Administer or support with medication (Where trained and competent)
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional wellbeing and report changes promptly, know how and when to escalate.
- Promote dignity, privacy, independence and choice at all times.
Leadership & Supervisions
- Act as Senior Staff member on shift, providing guidance and support to CSW's.
- Allocate duties fairly and without bias to ensure care tasks are completed effectively.
- Support new staff through induction and shadowing.
- Address minor issues or concerns and escalate appropriately when required.
- Participate and potentially lead team huddles
Care Planning and Documentation
- Ensure care records are accurate, up to date, and completed in a timely manner.
- Contribute to care plan reviews and risk assessments.
- Record and report incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
- Support compliance with IDDSI, nutrition and pressure care guidance.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues and professionals.
- Support handover and ensure clear information sharing between shifts.
- Promote a positive and respectful working environment.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
- Support audits, inspections and quality monitoring activities.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, company policy and best practice.
- Report any concerns relating to care quality, staffing or safety.
General Duties
- Participate in training and professiona development
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Undertake any reasonable duties requested by management for residents of their family, such as directly booking taxis via Uber to-and-from the building.
