Job Overview

Eliza House Care Home is seeking a

compassionate and dedicated Senior Carer

to join our friendly and professional team.
Our home provides high-quality care and support for residents, including those living with

dementia and assisted living needs

.

The successful candidate will take on a leading role within the care team, ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care while assisting the management team with

compliance, documentation, and daily operations

. This position is ideal for someone with strong care experience who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow their leadership skills.

Duties

Provide hands-on care and support to residents with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and meal support. Promote residents'

independence, dignity, and wellbeing

through person-centred care. Support the management team with

CQC compliance

, daily audits, and care documentation. Supervise, mentor, and guide care staff to maintain excellent standards of care. Implement and review individual

care plans

tailored to residents' needs. Accurately record and update care notes using IT systems and maintain confidentiality at all times. Administer and record medications safely in accordance with policies and procedures. Monitor residents for any changes in health or behaviour and report promptly. Support and oversee resident activities, ensuring safety, inclusion, and engagement. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in line with infection control and health & safety standards. Occasionally drive residents to appointments or outings (if applicable and licenced).

Requirements

Proven experience in

senior care or care home settings

(residential or nursing). Supervisory experience or strong leadership qualities. Sound understanding of

CQC regulations, safeguarding, and care planning

. Confident in

medication administration

and record-keeping. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to providing exceptional care. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it). Valid driving licence desirable (for resident outings and appointments). Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of residents and the service.
