Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Senior Carer to join our team in providing high-quality, person-centred care for residents living with dementia. You will play a key leadership role on shift, ensuring care is delivered in line with individual care plans while supporting and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Deliver high standards of care that promote dignity, choice, and independence. Administer or oversee medication in accordance with policies and training (if qualified). Support with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily living activities. Lead and supervise a team of care staff during shifts. Contribute to care planning, reviews, and updates, ensuring accurate documentation. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Monitor the well-being of residents and promptly report concerns to senior management. Ensure the home is compliant with CQC standards and internal policies. Assist with the induction, training, and ongoing development of care staff. Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment that supports residents with dementia.

Requirements

Experience in senior care or caregiving roles is preferred. Minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Level 3 desirable). Previous experience in a care environment, ideally within dementia care. Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills. Compassionate nature with a person-centred approach. Ability to work under pressure and make decisions confidently. Experience in administering medication (with relevant qualification). Knowledge of CQC standards and safeguarding procedures. Dementia training and understanding of best practices in dementia care.
