Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
Oversee food production processes, maintaining efficiency during busy service periods.
Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
Manage food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
Assist in menu planning, ingredient ordering, and inventory management to minimise waste and optimise stock levels.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
Familiarity with food production processes and culinary techniques.
Previous experience in restaurant service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential.
