We are seeking a passionate chef to join our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for a 70 cover restaurant. Average work week 35-40 hours with a competitive hourly rate, uniforms are provided and opportunities to earn more with private dining experiences held on Sundays as we are regularly closed on this day. This could be an excellent role for someone already with experience in a senior role or someone looking to progress in the role as we already have a well established team and looking to develop our menus. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, a deep understanding of food safety, and the ability to work in a dynamic kitchen environment. As senior chef, you will be expected to have the ability to work in all sections but mainly starters and stove, overseeing food production when head chef is absent and ensuring high standards of hospitality, and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
Duties
- Versatility to work in all sections as allocated by head chef.
- Producing high quality meals and prep from fresh produce to order.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations.
- Assist with daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet our establishment's standards.
- Work within kitchen budgets effectively while minimising waste.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work well with others and adapt to the needs of the team.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
- A background in hospitality is preferred, with an understanding of customer service excellence.
We are a busy restaurant based in the Southside but we are also advocates of a work life balance. Regularly closed on Sundays. New chef will have the opportunity for over time to cover holidays if/when needed.
