The Senior Children's Manager reports directly to the Principal and will be part of the Senior Leadership Team.
They will be responsible for ensuring that The Gower School is fully compliant and operates in accordance with the Independent Schools Inspectorate Regulations, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Health and Safety and Fire Safety Regulations.
Salary: 35,000 to 50,000
Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday for 48 weeks of the year
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding of Ofsted and Independent Schools Inspectorate regulations.
Oversee and manage all aspects of health and safety within The Gower School, from risk assessments and fire safety to emergency planning, ensuring that our sites remain safe and compliant.
Carry out accident and incident investigations to discover causes and identify preventative measures using our online accident recording system.
Ofsted and RIDDOR reporting.
Devise and review policies and procedures which help reduce risk and support a positive health and safety culture and compliance.
Monitor compliance regarding the administering and recording of medication
Able to cope with a variety of tasks and prioritise work according to strict and competing deadlines.
Ensure our kitchens remain compliant with regard to Food Standards Agency requirements and oversee all aspects of this.
Ability to deal with parent complaints.
To be a Designated Safeguarding Lead and remain up to date with Safeguarding training.
Ensure that all new staff receive a full induction prior to starting work (liaising with Head of Nursery and Head of Operations)
Overseeing our Holiday Fun Club provision
Carrying out parent tours.
What we're looking for
This role could suit an experienced room leader/deputy manager/nursery manager
You will have in depth of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be passionate about child development. It is essential for this role to hold Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification e.g. NNEB, CACHE, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
Designated Safeguarding Lead desirable (can receive training)
Be organised and flexible, and have a good standard of written and spoken English.
Degree level educated (desirable)
Keen interest in Health and Safety (NEBOSH desirable but can receive training) - will be responsible for Health and Safety across sites
You will have great attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team.
Working within busy and dynamic educational settings, you will be able to interact with parents, pupils and visitors in a polite and helpful manner
