Job Description

Due to recent investment in the Clinical Coding Team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, we are excited to offer an opportunity for experienced Clinical Coders to join our team at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford and Southend hospital in Southend.



We are looking for committed and enthusiastic Clinical Coders to join us.

The department also offers comprehensive training and development for all coders. You will be supported by our team of experienced trainers to help develop your existing skills and in learning new ones.



Possess the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) UK or be willing to work towards it at some point in the future



Have experience of using ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 classifications in an acute hospital setting



Be experienced in clinical coding for a wide range of specialties



Have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology



Be willing to work as part of a team to meet tight deadlines

This is a Senior Clinical Coder post at Band 5; consideration will be given to non-accredited coders - subject to assessment. Non ACC may be offered a post at a band 4 with automatic upgrade to Band 5 upon achieving accreditation.
