We are offering an exciting development opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to undertake the role of Senior Clinical Skills/Simulation Technician to support the School of Health & Care Sciences team and to work collaboratively with staff and resources across the medical school. This is an ideal chance for individuals with a passion for team development, service improvement, and leadership skills. You will lead the technical team that supports teaching staff, students, and research teams. This involves coordinating the team responsible for preparing for the practical delivery of clinical skills teaching and maintaining the daily operations of the procedures and processes necessary for these practices.
You will be required to maintain standards as well as Health and Safety and COSHH processes and records across the schools. This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified candidates who should hold an honours degree in health, sports, bioscience or another discipline relevant to Health & Care sciences, or have significant equivalent experience in a clinical skills/laboratory setting. You will have worked in a lab setting previously, and you will be IT-literate preferably with knowledge of specialist equipment used in clinical teaching and research.
You will have effective communication, organisation, procurement, administrative skills. You will be able to work collaboratively with teams, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This role requires specialist knowledge to provide highly specialised technical support and undertake varied work within the clinical skills suites, including preparing for practical classes, maintaining and operating specialist equipment/resources, managing stock/inventory, demonstrating and instructing practices, and liaising with internal and external providers.
Acting as a Health and Safety coordinator for the schools, you will have a comprehensive understanding of internal and external health and safety regulations and their application.
Please note this post is fixed term to cover maternity leave for one year, or until the early return of the post holder.
