About Us

i6 delivers cutting-edge SaaS solutions that transform aviation refuelling operations worldwide. Our platform streamlines planning, dispatch, compliance, and real-time data capture for fuel suppliers, FBOs, airports, and airlines. We enable our customers to run safer, faster, and more efficient refuelling operations.

Our Culture

We're a team of aviation and technology enthusiasts who believe in making complex operations simple and reliable. We value transparency, accountability, and collaboration across all functions -- from engineering to front-line support. In our fast-paced but supportive environment, every voice matters, and ideas are welcomed no matter where they come from. We invest in our people, encourage continuous learning, and celebrate innovation that improves safety, efficiency, and the customer experience. If you're excited by mission-critical challenges and want your work to have a visible impact on global aviation operations, you'll feel at home in i6.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer on our team, you'll be in charge of building and improving our cloud platforms. You should be an expert in a major cloud platform, either Google Cloud (GCP) or AWS and have strong skills in Kubernetes, GKE or EKS. You'll use IAC patterns alongside Cloud Native Tooling to automate and deploy our systems, whilst working alongside your peers and key stakeholders to ensure our platforms are operationally optimal.

Your main focus will be designing and building the cloud platforms that power all of our products. Working closely with developers, QA engineers, and product owners, you will develop solutions for problems spanning all of our cloud platforms, whether that's creating tools and capabilities to deploy new continents, to introducing cloud native functionality to ensure our teams can deliver software globally, whilst ensuring our platform is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and can solve complex problems. As a senior member of the team, you'll also be a mentor for more junior engineers, helping them learn by sharing your expertise in cloud technology and automation standards.

Key responsibilities

Design, build, and automate core cloud platform solutions,

ensuring everything you create is scalable, secure, and cost-effective, from internal tools, cloud native solutions to networking and kubernetes orchestration.

Contribute to the long-term cloud platform strategy and roadmap,

designing integrated solutions that solve core business problems rather than focusing on isolated, short-term fixes.

Analyse and re-engineer legacy systems,

documenting and guiding the migration process to modern, cloud-native platform solutions.

Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and QA engineers

in an Agile team to translate business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.

Take ownership of the platform's performance and reliability,

using observability tools to proactively monitor systems and resolve issues before they impact our global operations.

Proactively manage and optimise cloud costs,

consistently identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to maintain lean platform expenses.

Mentor junior engineers, perform constructive code reviews,

and champion high standards for code quality and testing across the team.

Create clear documentation for the solutions you build

and stay current with emerging technologies, actively sharing your knowledge to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Participate in an on-call rota

to provide critical support during major incidents, with an expected response time of 30 minutes.
