Cosmetic Chemist - 12-Month Part-Time Contract (Potential for Permanent)

We are seeking an experienced cosmetic chemist. This is a part-time 12 month temporary contract (days and hours negotiable), with the potential for a full time permanent role for the right candidate. If you're reliable, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Keep abreast of new and exciting ingredients, understand current and emerging market trends in the beauty industry Develop robust, cost-effective formulations and customer samples aligned with briefs Maintain accurate records with strong attention to detail: formulations, methods, test results, INCI lists, and compliance documentation Monitor ingredient regulatory changes to ensure product safety and compliance Collaborate with suppliers and build strong working relationships Act as the primary contact for lab-related queries Support scale-up production and troubleshoot manufacturing issues Assist other departments when needed Review and update department procedures and records. Use Microsoft Office proficiently
What We're Looking For

Experienced in personal care product formulation and able to work independently. Flexible and proactive approach to changing priorities Strong understanding of the cosmetic development lifecycle and regulations Excellent communication skills. Can clearly explain technical concepts to non-scientific colleagues and clients Skilled at troubleshooting formulation issues and finding practical, cost-effective solutions Must live within a commutable distance of Horsham, West Sussex or are willing to relocate.

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
