A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The main purpose of this role will be to support production operations through all material planning and supplies to production and stores.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Ensure clear communication and appropriate escalation of issues which may affect continuity of production through Daily management of parts supply risks and escalations into Plant start up meetings and daily meeting cadence.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers, Plant Production, Purchasing and STA in the effective resolution of supply issues that risk ongoing and future Plant performance.
  • Management of UK, EU and RoW supplier parts portfolio\'s through direct and indirect team members in RFU
  • Negotiate and authorise premium freight to ensure that costs are kept within budget whilst ensuring continuity of production at all times.
  • Data analytical and reporting through platforms which support governance and central MP&L deployment.
  • Management of Senior Analysts to achieve a zero loss and zero misfit mindset.
  • Manage the overall section workload during steady state and peak periods.
  • Management of team and the KPI\'s which drive this (Objectives, 121\'s, Absence & holidays cover, Succession planning and removing Single points of failure)
  • Monitor personal training and development needs and maintain an up-to-date training matrix.
  • Ensure Supply Chain Analysts are sufficiently trained in use of the departmental systems used (i.e. CMMS3, oBom, Excel)
  • Ensure that key Department business documentation and reports are prepared, updated, and appropriately distributed to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure that obsolescence liability is minimised by working closely with the Engineering Change Control team and Data Integrity
  • Drive \'Cost down\' and identify areas of waste through appropriate toolset and techniques. Ensure the team mindset harnesses our competitive direction to remain best in class.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Strong Analytical and Investigation skills essential.
  • Experience of CMMS3 key (not essential as can be trained)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal) with ability to use own initiative.
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving tools including PPS/ 8D.
  • Ability to write A3s, technical reports and deliver presentations to various levels.
  • Must have a thorough logical approach to issues, with high attention to detail.
  • Relevant previous experience of material planning and supplies to production within Manufacturing
  • Ability to maintain and interpret logistics data knowledge and skills with a broad understanding of the interfaces into vehicle platforms and plants
  • Knowledge of the latest technology and processes with a view to driving best-in-class logistics solutions
