Role Title: Senior Compliance Associate

Location: London, Hybrid working

Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Purpose of this role
The Senior Compliance Associate will play a key role within the Compliance function. The role-holder will be responsible for ensuring that Athora operates in adherence with legal, regulatory and internal requirements. This person will also help set Athora's compliance culture locally, ensuring the wider team understands its various obligations.
Key Responsibilities & Contribution Areas
Supporting the Group Head of Compliance in delivering the Annual Group Compliance Plan of activities including:Review of policies, procedures, training, standards and frameworks as required, including consultation and roll-out of changes Design and execution of compliance monitoring plans to determine the effectiveness of Group and Business Unit compliance programmes Participation in, and managing elements of strategic initiatives and projects designed to strengthen compliance infrastructure Supporting and monitoring Business Units in adopting compliance methodology and tools, in the process of monitoring and analysing applicable regulations, and in drafting ad hoc assessments when necessary to evaluate compliance and maturity Foster and encourage a strong culture of compliance across the Athora Group and promote awareness of the Compliance Framework, supporting compliance policies and regulations Supporting the Group Head of Compliance and Compliance Managers with running of the Compliance Forum and the various working groups Working with the Group Head of Compliance to maintain and track the progress of the Group Compliance Plan and provide timely updates to the Group Head of Compliance and onwards to the Board Audit Committee Supporting the Group Head of Compliance in the completion of the annual Group Compliance risk assessments

Providing support to Athora Bermuda to maintain an effective compliance program by:Conducting the annual compliance risk assessment and formulating the annual compliance plan Ensuring policies, procedures, registers, frameworks, controls and manuals are maintained Monitoring regulatory obligation and potential changes to the regulatory framework Managing the effective execution of compliance activities including monitoring, screening and reporting

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills RequiredSector knowledge: Experience working within the insurance industry (preferred) or wider financial services Experience and strong expertise in Compliance-focused role (ideally 4-5 years of experience) CISI / ICA compliance qualification or similar Degree qualified MS365 proficient with experience using FinScan and ORBIS beneficial
