We have a fantastic opportunity for a Construction Planner to join our team within Countryside Partnerships London West, at our Ealing office. As our Construction Planner you will be responsible for ensuring a delivery strategy is put in place and presented for each new development as it goes through the pre-construction process. To manage changes to Pre-construction and Construction programme and delivery strategies during the lifecycle of projects. To align Construction programme with all the business drivers to maximise efficiency, profitability, and customer journey. Working with the Associate Planning Director, Construction Director, and other members of the Project Team to effectively control all pre-construction and construction activities in line with specific development requirements, company policies and procedures.

  • 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of pre-construction and construction planning in the residential development sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of building construction and sequence.
  • A good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policy.
  • Professional communication style.
  • Excellent attention to detail, good administration skills and well organised to meet deadlines and timescales of projects.
  • Site management experience to a senior level.
  • Experience of managing the both the pre-construction and construction elements of projects in the residential sector.
  • Experience of producing programmes including tender, pre-construction, design, construction, short term, and recovery programmes using Asta and Excel.
  • Experience of producing plans and documents to be incorporated into the Project Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and Project Environmental Plan.
  • Experience of producing Construction Logistics, Phased Handovers and Construction Management Plans.
  • Experience of interpreting design information and project constraints and incorporating into the Project delivery strategy.
  • Be able to assess project risks and contribute to the risk register.
  • Knowledge of IT systems such as outlook/word/excel/powerpoint/visio/etc.
  • To be able to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels including presenting information to others.
  • Knowledge of construction process, sequence, and techniques.
  • Able to effectively negotiate, motivate and communicate in order to influence others to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Able to build effective working relationships with employees and external stakeholders/suppliers.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and on own initiative, to be self-motivated, have discretion, prioritise workload, confidentiality, and effective time management skills.
  • Commercially aware and cost efficiency focused.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Full and valid driving license.
Desirable \xe2\x80\x93
  • HNC/HND or degree in any Built Environment Profession (ie Building/ Construction Management/ Civil Engineering/ Architecture)
  • CSCS

  • Prepare pre-construction information, including delivery programmes, site logistics and phasing, required for land bids, tenders and new developments.
  • To selectively attend design team meetings and advise development and construction teams on the delivery effects of the designs being proposed, help develop efficient and profitable schemes.
  • Attend client meetings as required to represent Countryside demonstrating professional competence with regards planning project delivery.
  • Ensure the Construction Phase H&S Plan and Project Environmental Plans are prepared in good time for review and approval by the Construction Director. This would include preparation of Boundary Treatment Plans, Build Sequence, Fire Plan, Substructure Sequence Plans, Logistics Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Site Compound and Material Storage Plans, Working at Height Schedule, Occupation Strategy. These should be accurate and scalable.
  • Assess site conditions, site constraints, obtain necessary design information to set out optimal build sequence, compound layout and initial logistics for the development inclusive of occupation strategy.
  • Obtain design and programme information from specialist contractors and relevant 3rd parties to incorporate into our programme/ delivery strategy.
  • Prepare programmes in Asta that set out the sequence and timing of project deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain occupation and exit strategies.
  • Update project plan and deliverables as required. Give information relating to mitigation strategy where required.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed construction preliminaries. Ensure the works are planned.
  • in a manner that maximises commercial performance and promotes delivery of best quality products, on time, within budget and constructed in the safest manner.
  • Attend all project related meetings as required.
  • Ensure project progress is accurately recorded and communicated on the programme and distributed/uploaded to others.
  • Liaise and assist the Site Team with short term programmes as required.
  • Provide continuous feedback in respect of particularly successful and unsuccessful elements of each project in order future projects can benefit.
  • Prepare and report to directors, third party clients, as required.
  • Ensure handover schedules are continuously updated and accurate.
  • Mentor and develop junior member of the team.
  • Assist in updating weekly progress from site into construction programmes and PPR system.
