Are you a visionary digital producer with a proven track record of creativity and innovation in digital production? Are you looking for an opportunity to support one of the media industries most ambitious original social production teams and have a significant impact on how young audiences engage with iPlayer?

The TV Social team is looking for a strategic, ambitious and creative \'Senior Content Producer\' to work alongside our social campaign, publishing and edit teams and closely with our digital commissioning teams. Reporting into the Executive Producer for TV social you will help to produce high-impact and original digital assets promoting all priority BBC iPlayer titles. From Sir David Attenborough to Dannii Minogue you\'ll work with some of the BBC\'s biggest talent, biggest shows and some of the most up and coming Content Creators to produce distinctive and ground-breaking social media content that sparks viral conversations across the internet.

You\'ll be working as part of a newly expanded digital production team that creates youth skewing original content for some of the UK\'s biggest social media brands including @BBC, @BBCiPlayer and @BBCThree. That content will introduce youth audiences to our shows and encourage them to spend time with iPlayer and ensure our new TV Social team delivers on its objective to make iPlayer the most viewed media brand among 13-34 year olds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Content Producer, manager and people person with exceptional organisation skills and an abundance of creativity.

Key Responsibilities

As one of two Senior Content Producers you will:

  • Manage and inspire team members to be creative and experimental to produce truly standout content for young audiences. With your strong understanding of this audience and their world you will translate and apply this into developing and producing new ideas, formats and talent propositions which are in line with the TV Social strategy.
  • Build solid relationships with stakeholders to develop and produce content ideas which best showcase longform content and truly capture the imagination of audiences. Working particularly closely with the wider TV social team to ensure projects and campaigns are seamlessly aligned.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of different social platforms and formats, best practice, and styles/approaches that lead to successful digital assets.
  • Initiates and leads in coming up with ideas for titles ensuring that the editorial vision is communicated and understood from planning through to delivery.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects at a time, ensuring content is planned, produced and delivered on time and within budget, encouraging the highest possible creative standards throughout, compliant with all relevant legal, editorial and health & safety requirements and that staff are clear about their responsibilities.
  • Deputising where appropriate for Executive Producer and contributing towards the development and implementation of team strategy.
Are you the right candidate?

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
  • Is an experienced creative lead and content creator.
  • Develop and manage positive working relationships with team supporting and developing direct reports, and be able to give constructive feedback.
  • A thorough knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and other compliance policies, or has the desire to learn this knowledge quickly. Understanding of the importance of the BBC\'s values in accuracy and impartiality.
  • A passion for and a great understanding of TV content and an understanding of how that content translates into social media content.
  • A strong track record of working in TV/Social media with a thorough knowledge of the production process - from ideation through to delivery.
  • Significant experience in producing and delivering multi-platform productions. Proven experience of the latest production techniques and technologies. Excellent editorial judgement and knowledge of the target audience, their needs and expectations.
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating and communicating effectively both internally and with external agencies/partners
  • Highly developed planning and organising skills. Ability to manage several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
  • A good understanding of analytics and experience of using data to inform content creation.
