to join our team. The role will be based in Central London from February until May 2025, and then from Sizewell C site in Suffolk from June 2025 onwards.
Sizewell C is a 20B project which will create a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
The works comprises extensive geotechnical works including:
SSSI Crossing. Circa 10m of Rotary Bored and precast piling
Approx 100m if ground improvement. Cutter Soil Mixing, Deep Soil Mixing, Displacement auger piling
Ground support for other temporary structures in the MCA.
What you'll be doing
Management of internal resource and subcontractors
Ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract and design information, drawings, specification and Project Management Plan
Produce and review construction methods statements ensuring that the works are constructed efficiently and safely
Produce all site documentation for delivery of the works including PMP, PVPMP, ITP, Construction Phase Management Plan etc as required
Develop then work to programmes, measuring progress and productivity outputs
Understand and apply the procedures and processes detailed in the project Health, Safety and Environmental plans, and to promote a safe working culture
Ensuring the works are undertaken safely and in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and the site HS&E plans. Prepare and review risk assessments
Support and drive behavioural safety on site
To be responsible for the monitoring, progress reporting and achieving of goals for the work under his/her responsibility
Anticipating and resolving problems, in particular related to engineering issues.
Managing construction records, O&M manuals and as built drawings
Support our "Customer Focus", "Construction Excellence" and "Innovation" strategy
Undertaken client meeting and precontract meetings
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
Strong computer skills - focused on Excel / Word / PowerPoint
5 years' experience in the construction industry
Experience in delivery of civil engineering contracts on various scales
Ability to manage multiple teams efficiently
Ability to manage multiple scheme costs
Ability to manage Health and Safety including Behavioural Safety
Ability to lead, communicate and influence others to deliver targets.
SSSTS or SMSTS.
The following qualities/experience are desirable
Experience working for a piling, ground engineering or civils subcontractor.
Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent preferable
