Senior Control Systems Engineer
\xc2\xa350,000-\xc2\xa365,000 DoE

Introduction
Astute are working with a lifting and height safety solutions provider for the offshore wind energy sector, they are looking to grow the engineering team with a Control System Engineer who can lead the development of control systems for the innovative solutions they provide. The successful candidate will work on new and existing product developments with an exciting opportunity to be involved in the full product life cycle.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Control Systems Engineer you will be responsible for.

  • Researching and developing new features and concepts for a range of offshore hoists.
  • Design of control systems and implementation, including overall concept development.
  • Engaging with suppliers both existing and new for components.
  • Development, testing and Verification of related safety software including PLC, Omron, and HMI or similar.
  • Use industry knowledge to find cost reducing ways to source alternative components or be redesign.
  • Leading and or supporting on the testing and commissioning of systems.
  • OT security solution design and implementation.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Documentation authoring and software review.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline to BSc level or above.
  • Experience with Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal)
  • Membership of a relevant professional association e.g., TUV (not essential)
  • A proven background in a similar highly technical role for at least 5 years.
  • Knowledge of the offshore wind industry would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of SDS
  • Networking knowledge of ProfiNET, Modbus, TCP, SNMP etc.
  • Strong electrical diagram reading skills.
  • Understanding of fail-safe control system design.
  • Ability to juggle workloads and prioritise tasks.
  • Able to travel within the UK and abroad as per the needs of the business.
  • RTW in the UK and clean driving license essential.
Salary & Package

  • Salary of \xc2\xa350,000 - \xc2\xa365,000 depending on experience
