SENIOR COOK



Little Bridge House, Fremington, Barnstaple



32 hours per week (generally worked between 11am-7pm, although some flexibility around these times will be required)



27,727 to 32,343 per annum pro rata (plus an extra 6.55 per hour for any hours worked over weekends and bank holidays)

To lead our dedicated and friendly kitchen team at Little Bridge House we are recruiting for a Senior Cook.

"Happy, amazing, special and fun" are perhaps not the first words that spring to mind when you think of a children's hospice - but this is exactly how our families describe our hospices. Matched by our staff feeling "proud, rewarded and making a difference" by working in this special setting, this is perhaps a quite a different cook role to what you might have expected.





In this role you will guide the kitchen team to prepare and serve a range of high quality, home cooked meals and snacks for children and families to enjoy during their stays with us.

About us:



An established and successful charity, Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) provides hospice care for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families in the South West of England. CHSW has three hospices Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.

We aim to recruit passionate, friendly and enthusiastic staff who are motivated to really make a difference to the lives of the children and families who visit us.

About you:




You will need good all round experience in catering and running a professional kitchen including; kitchen organisation, menu planning, stock ordering, staff supervision/management and maintaining health and safety measures. This role offers the opportunity to set creative and varied menu plans and experience of catering to those with special diets for health or cultural reasons would be advantageous.
