We are seeking a Senior Chemist to join our team at Natural Spa Factory. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in chemistry and product development to create and enhance our premium spa products. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our commitment to quality and innovation.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Cosmetic Chemist to join our dynamic Product Development team. In this pivotal role, you'll lead formulation projects and guide junior chemists while playing a key role in bringing new skincare and beauty products from concept to commercialisation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch skincare, haircare, and bodycare formulations, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and excellence in performance and quality.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with at least 3 years of experience in Laboratory experience in the cosmetic or personal care industry who is passionate about formulation science, technical problem-solving, and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the formulation and development of innovative skincare, haircare, and bodycare products according to marketing briefs and brand direction Oversee and conduct advanced stability, compatibility, and performance testing Manage multiple formulation projects and timelines with minimal supervision Guide and mentor junior chemists and technicians in lab practices and formulation development Prepare and review formulation documentation, specifications, and regulatory compliance reports Support regulatory submissions, safety assessments, and claims substantiation in accordance with EU and UK regulations Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to troubleshoot scale-up and manufacturing challenges Evaluate and recommend new raw materials and technologies aligned with market trends and sustainability goals Participate in internal product reviews and external customer meetings as a technical expert Champion best practices in laboratory safety, efficiency, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
Requirements:

Minimum 4 years' experience in a formulation role within the cosmetics or personal care industry Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or related discipline (or SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science) Proven ability to independently develop and optimise cosmetic formulations Strong understanding of ingredient functionalities, formulation chemistry, and product development lifecycles Excellent documentation, project management, and technical reporting skills Sound knowledge of cosmetic regulations (EU Cosmetics Regulation, UK Cosmetics Regulation, FDA guidelines) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to innovation and problem-solving

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
