We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Senior Financial Controller & Administrator
to oversee the financial operations and administrative management of both
Channex Property Group
and
Cortium Sports Ltd
. This is a senior role with an opportunity to grow, responsible for ensuring robust financial control, compliance, strategic financial planning, and smooth administration across both organizations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing operational finance with strategic oversight, supporting the growth of a dynamic property group and a fast-developing sports business.
Key Responsibilities Financial Control & Management
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Oversee and improve Banking and automation.
Improve governance and procurement.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts with variance analysis and insights.
Consolidate and report on group-level financials across Channex Property Group and Cortium Sports Ltd.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management to ensure optimal liquidity and resource allocation.
Monitor and maintain compliance with tax, audit, and statutory requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
Develop and implement robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management processes.
Strategic Finance
Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to directors for investment decisions, property acquisitions, and sports development.
Partner with leadership to evaluate new business opportunities and assess financial feasibility.
Support funding rounds, investor reporting, and financial due diligence as required.
Administration & Operations
Manage general administration, including contract management, supplier negotiations, and insurance policies.
Improve corporate structure reporting.
Oversee HR administration such as contracts, benefits, and compliance with employment legislation.
Ensure smooth operational processes across both organizations, liaising with external service providers (lawyers, accountants, auditors, banks).
Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and systems to improve efficiency and accountability.
Leadership & Team Development
Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Act as a senior advisor to the directors on operational and financial matters.
Skills & Qualifications
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
7+ years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior controller or finance manager role.
Strong knowledge of UK financial reporting standards, tax compliance, and corporate governance.
Experience in both
property investment/management
and
technology/fast-growth businesses
preferred.
Proven ability to manage cross-company finances and consolidate group accounts.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
