About the role
Are you a skilled mechanical craftsperson looking to make a real impact on one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects? Join Balfour Beatty as a Senior Craftsperson - Mechanical and help deliver our temporary site services package on the Lower Thames Crossing.
What you'll be doing
You'll be at the heart of our construction operations, supporting project engineers and supervisors with the planning and execution of mechanical site services. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining mechanical temporary services

• Supporting safe systems of work and sustainability goals

• Conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks

• Monitoring workmanship and plant/tool readiness

• Assisting with QA using BIM Field 360

• Identifying hazards and improvement opportunities

• Keeping accurate daily records and reporting non-conformances

Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a valid CSCS card and NVQ/SVQ Level 2 in BSE

• Has experience in temporary mechanical installations

• Is safety-conscious with strong knowledge of H&S legislation

• Can work flexibly, including nights and weekends

• Is a proactive team player with excellent communication skills

• Understands mechanical specifications and construction tolerances

Desirable extras:

• First Aid at Work certification

• Full clean driving licence

• Experience in high-standard mechanical installations

• Ambition to become an Appointed Person (AP)
