Overview of Role



Predominantly working closely with the crop protection procurement manager but with fertiliser and seed business support responsibilities. Ensuring accurate and timely service from order placing to invoicing, working with Members and suppliers.

Under the supervision of procurement managers, the role will require working to negotiate prices and secure orders for the three product areas as directed and agreed both for external customers and internal subsidiaries.

Where procurement managers are engaged elsewhere, you will be confident to provide sufficient cover and service as necessary to fulfil member and supplier enquiries or queries.

The role is predominantly office based although there will a requirement for regular external visits to Members, suppliers, and relevant industry events.

Duties and Responsibilities



Working closely with the procurement managers to implement the growth strategy Taking ownership of the gap analysis management utilising the current software tools Proactive member account management Benchmarking current and prospective members Regular communications to members regarding savings and benefits Provide members and agronomists with updates on product developments and regulatory changes. Organise technical briefings for agronomists Provide technical support and cost-effective alternatives for crop protection products Manage member order requests and enquiries via phone and email Provide additional support in fertiliser and seed procurement when necessary
Person Specification

Qualifications



Full BASIS qualification in Agriculture

Experience



Experience in providing advice in a similar crop role Previous customer focused experience Demonstrable ability to identify and make process improvements

Skills



Confident and professional telephone manner Track record of high level of accurate administration Excellent negotiation skills Able to interact at appropriate level with customers, suppliers and team members

Knowledge



Ability to evaluate and compare data accurately Knowledge of the crop protection, fertiliser, and seed markets desirable but not essential

Personal Attributes



Attention to detail Able to take direction and instruction Confident to make decisions Used to working to very tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Devise and deliver ideas for process improvement Team player but also able to work alone and use own initiative
