About the role

As a senior crown advocate you work on, advise and review serious criminal cases. You work in the Crown Court conducting advocacy on trials, non-contested hearings and case management hearings. You also carry out cases in the magistrates' court, and advise on investigations and undertake advocacy in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Your legal expertise is central to our ability to deliver justice, providing sound judgement on whether to proceed with prosecutions, which evidence to present and how future legislation is shaped.

We are also recruiting crown advocates level 2 and 3.

About you

We're looking for qualified barristers and solicitors with a valid practising certificate for England and Wales. You must have completed a Legal Practice Course or Bar Vocational Course, and have the relevant pupillage or period of recognised training. Recent experience of handling contested criminal advocacy of category 3 or category 4, or both, in the Crown Court is essential.
