We are looking for a

Senior Cyber Security Engineer

who will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining a robust security architecture that protects critical systems across engineering, manufacturing, and race operations.

This role ensures that preventative measures, detection systems, and incident response processes safeguard the organisation's assets and data while enabling operational excellence and performance at every level.###

Key Responsibilities





Security Architecture & ImplementationDesign, implement, and manage enterprise-grade security tools and systems, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, SIEM platforms, and IAM solutions. Lead the design of secure IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, embedding cybersecurity best practices into every layer of architecture. Develop and maintain technical documentation, security baselines, and architectural standards aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
Threat Detection & ResponseMonitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats using advanced tooling and threat intelligence. Act as a primary responder to security incidents--investigating, containing, and resolving breaches while coordinating with relevant teams to minimise impact. Perform root cause analyses and ensure lessons learned are applied for continuous improvement.
Vulnerability Management & Risk MitigationConduct regular vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and security assessments to identify and prioritise weaknesses. Coordinate remediation activities with engineering, IT, and third-party partners to reduce risk exposure. Ensure systems and networks maintain the highest levels of resilience and integrity.
Governance, Compliance & StrategyEnsure alignment with internal security policies and external regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2. Contribute to audits, policy development, and the continuous evolution of the organisation's cybersecurity posture. Provide strategic guidance to leadership on security risk management and emerging threats.
Collaboration & LeadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional growth of the wider IT and engineering teams. Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate implementation and maintenance of security systems. Actively participate in meetings, reporting structures, and cross-functional projects to ensure security considerations are integrated across the business.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Expert knowledge of security-centric infrastructure design and network security architecture. Deep understanding of network components, firewall design, and secure system configuration. Hands-on experience with modern cybersecurity tooling (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IAM, IDS/IPS). Strong understanding of security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, SOC 2). Proven ability to operate effectively in mission-critical, high-demand, or real-time environments - Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace, defence, or financial trading experience highly desirable. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure, delivering results within tight timescales.
