Finance and Treasury Services (FTS) are a suite of products responsible for enhancing and optimising Checkout.com \'s financial processes, becoming the golden source and distribution hub of financial data to a variety of end user groups. With Checkout.com \'s fast paced growth and complex business domain, we thrive in the ongoing challenges of data integrity, granularity, and scalability.
We are looking for a talented Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Transactional Ledger Analytics team. You will work closely with our Finance and Treasury teams to translate their requirements into robust and intuitive data models. You will design and build the data pipelines necessary to process and transform large amounts of data that our systems generate. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of these data pipelines, as Checkout continues to scale as a business. You will have ownership over these processes, allowing you to take charge in maintaining high data quality standards.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a core part of our financial data capabilities. Your expertise in building data pipelines, optimising data flows and implementing data governance principles will play a critical role in enabling business operations for our Finance and Treasury teams. We are seeking someone who possesses strong technical expertise, a strong bias towards action, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build data pipelines to process data from our systems, services and applications.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data pipeline performance and reliability.
  • Partner with other analytics engineers to design and implement scalable data models that support downstream business operations and analytical queries.
  • Create and maintain documentation for our data architecture and data assets.
  • Ensure data governance and security standards are maintained across our systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to improve our platform and systems.
  • Work closely with Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and Service Level Agreements.
You will be working with dbt, Looker, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, git, Fivetran and AWS.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in an analytics engineering or data engineering role with a focus on large scale data transformation and data warehousing.
  • Excellent SQL coding skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or AWS Redshift.
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt, or Dataflow.
  • Deep understanding of data modelling techniques.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with using visualisation platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Apache Superset.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices and their application to data processing systems.
  • Experience with version control technologies such as Git.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Haves
  • Understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts.
  • Experience in using at least one programming language such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience in mentoring junior team members.
