The Senior Data Domain Squad Lead role is a hybrid role, encompassing elements of the traditional Delivery role with Agile/Scrum expertise. It is accountable for supporting the successful delivery of Data assets and products through the leadership of one or more Data workstreams. The role works principally with Technical Leads, Product Owners, and Data team members to deliver the agreed assets and products.
What's the job?:
The role supports the Product and Engineering Leadership and squad members to navigate change and standard IT processes, and links them with key resources outside of the Data platform. Ensures workstream performance and that work is supervised and reported to stakeholders. Responsibilities include;Principal point of contact for delivery, provide regular status updates and reports for one or more workstream(s).
Builds proven relationships with other teams that work in tandem with Group Data to deliver data assets and products.
Acts as a servant leader and mentor, ensuring each workstream embraces agile methods and techniques tailored for the workstream context.
Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure workstream priorities and deliverables are regularly agreed and communicated to the team.
Will provide regular and clear progress updates for key stakeholders, dealing with queries and collating feedback as needed.
Provide budget planning, financial management and reporting for your assigned team(s).
Proactively managing/mitigating risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, initiating escalations where needed, and presenting solutions to hold time and budget.
Leads in a matrix resource model, where the cross-functional team are aligned and passionate about clear delivery objectives.
Taking charge of developing project proposals for initiatives that introduce significant new processes, tools, or technology within the data domain.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience in the delivery of enterprise-level Data, BI or Product solutions in relevant industries and the direct management of highly performant teams.
Comfortable with various Agile Delivery methodologies, knowing when and how to apply each, with good experience of the full delivery lifecycle.
Skilled at budget planning and monitoring. Capable of providing direction for the development of project proposals as vital.
An excellent team player who celebrates team achievement above individual achievement.
