Here\'s what you\'d be doing:

  • Own the end to end data engineering pipeline, from pulling data from an array of systems using airflow/hevo, cleaning and transforming the data through a sql pipelines in dbt
  • Ensure clean data is available for the BI team to enable accurate reporting and analytics
  • Build data integrity checks into our existing pipelines to alert users when an error has occurred
  • Integrate new data from a variety of APIs into our medallion architecture, housed in dbt
  • Support with pipeline migrations as our backend systems are upgraded by the software development team
  • Setup sensible data security practises to ensure all of Zapp\'s data remains protected, but accessible to those that need it
  • Support the BI team in producing efficient code when pulling together data from multiple sources
Goals for the first year:

Become the owner across all of our data engineering systems and processes

Work in a systematic and accurate way, identifying improvements and prioritising effectively

Support the team in ensuring the highest quality of data

Balance long-term development tasks with ad-hoc requests/bug fixes

The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • A problem solving mindset
  • Experience with GCP, including:
  • Cloud functions
  • Airflow
  • Google Cloud Storage
  • BigQuery
It would also be great if they have experience of:
  • dbt
  • Looker
  • Hevo
