Title: Senior Data Engineer

Salary: Up to \xc2\xa355,000 DOE

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

My client is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team. Their incredibly inclusive work culture has led to them being shortlisted for and winning many awards over the years.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing data warehouse and reporting solutions while ensuring confidentiality and anonymity.
  • Migrate and transform existing databases on to the Azure platform.
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach to skill development and assisting clients in updating their systems as needed.
  • Creating high-level documentation that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicating technical concepts and solution principles to clients during engagements.
  • Efficiently managing time and priorities to meet project deadlines.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of a SQL server architecture
  • Proficiency in crafting T-SQL queries, stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, indexes, and developer code within the database.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a talent for identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with a range of technologies such as Azure, Azure DevOps, SQL platform, T-SQL, PowerBI, MySQL, and CosmosDB.
  • Awareness of Data Architecture and modern data platforms.
  • Experience working with diverse data storage technologies like data lakes, data warehouses, and traditional SQL databases.
  • Expertise in data warehousing and Azure Data Lake without mentioning previous projects or clients.
  • Knowledge of various data modeling techniques such as 3NF and star.
  • Proficiency in building complex data integration pipelines involving different data types and sources (direct integration, API-based, FTP transfer).
  • 2+ years\' experience using Azure Databricks and Data Factory.
  • A background in finance or using financial data would be beneficial.
