Job summary
At the heart of the energy market, data tells the story of the challenges consumers face and how we at Ofgem fight to protect them. We're looking for a Senior Data Modeller to join us and lead on shaping the data frameworks that underpin key regulatory decisions, strengthening our ability to respond to issues that affect millions of households.
Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.
We're offering a permanent position with the chance to work at the centre of one of the most vital data initiatives in the UK's energy landscape. As part of our Markets Data Office, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our data structures reflect real-world needs and support powerful, evidence-based decision making. This is an opportunity to drive smarter, more consistent use of data across our organisation.
You'll be part of an interdisciplinary team delivering a collaborative service that helps Ofgem's Markets Directorate users "do data better." Working alongside analysts, data professionals, and stakeholders, you'll create scalable models that support major areas of our work and help ensure we can act quickly and decisively in response to market shifts.
We're looking for someone with strong technical skills and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, robust data models. You'll be confident working across diverse teams and equally comfortable engaging technical colleagues and non-technical decision-makers, all while promoting best practice in data strategy and structure.
Join a team that's inquisitive, collaborative and committed to improving the way we use data. Based in London, Glasgow or Cardiff, we offer hybrid working, a welcoming and inclusive culture, and a strong focus on meaningful impact through data-led transformation.
We have a critical purpose to enable consistent, scalable, and business-aligned data structures across the energy market. In this role, you'll help ensure that vital consumer data is structured, accessible, and actionable, strengthening our ability to safeguard fairness and transparency across the sector.
