The key purpose of this role is to provide support to the Delegated Underwriting Manager in any activities relating to the monitoring and compliance with underwriting requirements as set out within the Lancashire Delegated Underwriting policy and procedures.
To assist with administration and other clerical duties that impacts the Delegated Underwriting team.
Specific Responsibilities
Responsibility for the completion of Coverholder due diligence
Responsibility for the review and approval of binding authority agreements across Lancashire Syndicates Limited and Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited
Responsibility for the review and registration of all consortia that Lancashire participate
Responsibility for the Coverholder audit process, including scheduling, reviewing reports and resolution of any issues raised from the reports
Responsibility for maintaining and monitoring Lloyd's ATLAS and DCOM systems.
The production of delegated underwriting information for monthly packs and regulatory returns.
The production of conduct and product related management information in respect of delegated underwriting
Regular attendance at Underwriting and Claims forums as required
Represent the Delegated Underwriting team at internal forums, including the Delegated Authority Oversight Group
Ensuring compliance with the Lloyd's "Principles" as they relate to Delegated Underwriting.
Ensuring that delegated underwriting policies and procedures are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis
Keeping up to date on technical and operational issues that relate to Delegated Underwriting business
Communicating changes to key Delegated Underwriting controls to the business
Attending meetings and liaising with the Lloyd's Coverholder and Customer Oversight teams
Assisting the Delegated Underwriting Manager with ad hoc duties as and when required.
Essential Skills & Requirements
A thorough understanding of Lloyd's reporting requirements and the requirements under "The Principles".
Experience in a Delegated Underwriting role.
The ability to prioritise and handle the allocation of workloads, ensuring specific deadlines are met.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships both internally within the claims and underwriting teams and with coverholders and brokers.
The ability to work well within the team, sharing their knowledge and training to meet business and team goals.
Good mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to review and analyse Coverholder MI against key controls
Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate records in the syndicate's coverholder information systems
Strong IT skills
