Role description




The Audio Visual Senior Design Engineer is a member of the core team for each client and project. Taking the sold Design through workflow to completion, you'll provide direction and oversight through the project life cycle, this starts with working on the detailed design prior to procurement then working closely with the CAD Team to draft the drawing package. Once this has been approved and released you will be the

overriding design authority for the technical teams on site. Finally closing out each project with Red Lines delivered from the Field Engineers and final quality assurance on the As Built Project documents that are delivered to the client.

Role Responsibilities




The job responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer include but not limited to the following:

Work directly with clients and Project Managers to develop budgets, timelines and
managing expectations.
Building on a conceptual design provided in the sales stage to develop the detailed design package, ensuring that the systems meet functionality expectations and are technically ready for deployment. Sole responsibility and technical ownership for design engineering on large scale AV projects. Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of audio, video and control solutions. Develop detailed system schematics using AutoCAD. Develop detailed PDF markups for CAD to translate into construction drawings.


Required Skills & Qualification



Proven experience in AV systems designing. A clear understanding of project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning. A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation, and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications. Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines. Ability to analyse complex issues and communicate concise succinct messages. High level of problems solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications



Avixa CTS-D Certification Certifications or training with any DSP platform (Biamp, QSC, Clearone, etc). Certifications or training with any control system (Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc) * Experience working with other specialised products e.g. Cisco, Microsoft
