What are we looking for in this position?

Develop prototypes to test the adequacy of the design in meeting its functional and performance requirements. Resolution and accuracy of prototypes will vary alongside the maturity of the design, from early cardboard / benchtop proof of concepts to pre-production soft tooling. Identify an adequate manufacturing method for all made parts in the BOM, and ensure that the parts are designed with DFM in mind from the start. Ensure that considered thoughts are given to assembly, service and repair, engaging with internal production engineers to draw from previous experience and lessons learned. Manage design robustness through an FMEA approach. Maintain a set of up-to date part and assembly drawings, and key tolerance stack analyses. Collaborate with the Verification Engineer to design, carry out and analyse the result of verification tests.
