Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated

Senior Design Engineer

to lead the design and development of precision sheet metal server cabinet solutions for hyperscaler data centres. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with globally recognised IT clients and contribute to cutting-edge infrastructure projects.

About the Role



As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of mechanical and sheet metal products, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry and customer standards. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and directly with customers to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the design and development of new mechanical and sheet metal products, particularly server cabinet solutions. Translate customer specifications into detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using

Creo

, with data managed through

Windchill

. Ensure all designs meet structural, cost, and manufacturability requirements. Build and maintain strong working relationships with major IT and hyperscaler clients. Apply design tools such as

DFMEA

and

tolerance analysis

to ensure robust product performance. Participate in and lead cross-functional design reviews. Communicate directly and regularly with customers to understand their needs and provide project updates. Support prototype validation and ensure accurate integration of design data into ERP systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design processes and product quality.

What We're Looking For



BEng in Mechanical Engineering

(or equivalent) with

significant experience

in a relevant design engineering role. Expertise in

sheet metal design

, ideally for data centre or electronics enclosures. Proficiency in

Creo

and

Windchill

. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles. Experience working with ERP/PLM systems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
