Overview

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering organisation based at our Kendal, Cumbria headquarters. The role sits within the Detailed Design Team, developing robust, engine-specific cooling pump designs manufactured on-site for global industrial engine leaders such as Caterpillar, Cummins, John Deere and Scania.

This varied role includes designing components from scratch, project management, problem solving, and testing prototypes, while working collaboratively to deliver durable, high-performance products. Training, development, and clear opportunities for progression are provided.

The Role

Lead activities of Design Engineers Prioritise work of the team and overall project schedule to achieve the goals of the business Present designs and report findings on a regular basis to Management and internal stakeholders Key interface with clients, understanding their requirements and reporting regular updates Collaborate with other areas of the business and weigh up considerations from various stakeholders Oversee validation activities on new designs to ensure they are fit-for-purpose Review and approve technical specifications, drawings and reports from the Design Team Mentor and train junior engineers

The Individual

Relevant Degree in field or equivalent experience Experience with rotating assemblies Experience with engineering design processes Technical product documentation and Specification Tolerancing of components for assembly including GD&T Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
