Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and hands on

Senior Design Engineer

to lead and support our engineering team. This key role will be responsible for supervising design activities and ensuring that all engineering deliverables comply with applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and engineering practices, including ISO 9001, 45001, and 18001 QHSE Management System requirements.





This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer to take a senior role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.




What You'll Be Doing:




Producing and reviewing engineering and maintenance drawings

to support design, manufacture, assembly, and test activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards

Leading design planning, problem-solving, and technical reviews

ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with engineering best practices

Overseeing design and build programmes and R&D initiatives

, managing resources effectively and driving innovation throughout the development process

Supporting workshop teams

to provide technical guidance during the manufacture, assembly, and testing stages

Prepare engineering estimates, calculations, and documentation

, while managing design packages and verifying purchased goods meet specifications

Collaborate cross-functionally

with internal teams and client representatives throughout project planning and execution, including tendering, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives



What experience you'll bring:





You'll be a driven and collaborative engineer who thrives in a team environment and is capable of leading technical projects while working under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a forward-thinking approach to continuous improvement are key.



Some other things that will help you succeed in this role include:



A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Significant experience in in 3D modelling and design (SolidWorks or similar) Significant experience in producing accurate manufacturing drawings Industry experience in Oil & Gas or Marine Energies (preferably in IRM and Decommissioning, Construction and Installation) Strong problem-solving ability in mechanical tooling design Experience with Mathcad, FEA and PDM
