Your opportunity

You will design, develop and maintain software on the Core Data Platform (full stack), building new applications (MarkitEDM, Databricks, ETL), databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake), functionality and supporting critical business needs. You will provide technical knowledge to support and enhance existing and new applications for the Janus Henderson Investments global teams. You will be part of the Reference Data & Reconciliation Product team and work closely with members of our business partners on efforts of various scope and scale.

  • Research, design, develop, test, debug, document and support custom Core Data Platform applications in support of business needs.
  • Adhere to product release delivery schedules working as a collaborative team member in an agile development environment.
  • Produce technical specifications and release notes for required features and architectural/framework improvements.
  • Participate in code design and code reviews with appropriate team members.
  • Research and perform design, systems analysis and development activities.
  • Design and implement new software as well as maintain and enhance existing software and applications.
  • Provide production support for custom applications as needed.
  • Ensure that code adheres to vendor best practice and strict standards for accessibility, security, object-oriented practices and performance.
  • Write, conduct and maintain unit and integration tests.
  • Effectively function and communicate within a software development team consisting of developers, quality assurance testers and technical business analysts.
  • Actively participate in requirements and design meetings.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Must have skills
  • Proven track record working with Investment Reference Data
  • Experience developing on Reference Data Management platforms e.g. MarkitEDM, GoldenSource etc.
  • Strong SQL skills across SQL Server and/or Snowflake
  • Excellent understanding of data governance and data management, specifically related to asset management Distribution and Investment functions
  • A track record of interfacing seamlessly with Technology development teams
  • Able to work in a matrix management environment
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • A rolled-up sleeve positive and delivery focused approach; a gift for problem solving and pragmatism
  • Excellent understanding of change delivery within the asset management sector
  • Understanding and documenting Process Maps using tools such as Visio
  • Problem solving / analysis - ability to understand complex issues and to then identify and effectively communicate solutions, taking ownership of the problem through to successful resolution
  • Experience of working in a global environment managing stakeholders across the globe
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel
  • Analysing data requirements with the ability to capture and build out requirements in a structured and effective manner

  • Knowledge Charles River in relation to Security, Index and Legal Entity reference data
  • Exposure to the StateStreet Alpha Data Platform
